Young parliamentarians delegation to meet CPC leaders tomorrow -

BEIJING, JULY 10 (APP): The Young parliamentarians from National Assembly of Pakistan led by its Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi will meet leaders of the ruling Communist Party of China here on Monday. The 8-member delegation arrived on the second leg of their visit from Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang here on Saturday evening. The delegation led by Deputy Speaker will first hold meeting with the Vice Minister of ruling Communist Party of China Ai Ping.The Deputy Speaker along with his delegation will also meet Member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee Wang Lequan. The meeting will be held at the Great Hall of the People.The Deputy Speaker NA while talking to APP on Sunday at reception hosted by Ambassador Masood Khan at Pakistan House said that he has very successful meetings with Chinese leadership in Urumqi.

As South Sudan celebrates independence, UN vows support in quest for peace, prosperity -

UNITED NATIONS, July 9 (APP): South Sudan Saturday became the world?s newest State, formally seceding from Sudan to attain independence in the culmination of a UN-facilitated peace process that ended decades of conflict.Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who was among the dozens of dignitaries from across the world attending the independence ceremony in the new country?s capital, Juba, congratulated the people of South Sudan, pledging that the United Nations would help the new nation establish effective institutions of governance,according to a news release issued at UN Headquarters in New York.?We have been engaged in the quest for peace in Sudan for many years ? through peacekeeping and diplomacy, through humanitarian assistance and development.

DG ISPR rejects NYT?s allegations levelled against Army, ISI -

RAWALPINDI, July 9 (APP): Director General ISPR and Military Spokesman Major General Athar Abbas on Saturday rejected the allegations levelled against the Army and ISI by a US newspaper, and described them as baseless and mischievous.He was responding to a question during an interview with a foreign news agency about a series of unsubstantiated news reports published by the New York Times.Major General Athar Abbas said in recent weeks the New York Times has continued to publish wild claims presented as news stories on the basis of information supposedly provided by unnamed US officials.

Restoration of commissionerate system part of PPP manifesto: Minister -

ISLAMABAD, Jul 10 (APP): Amjad Saddique, a scholarship awardee of National University of Modern Languages (NUML) won three medals in ?Beijing Inter Universities Athletic Competition? held at Beijing Language and Culture University. Amjad, son of Mohammad Siddique, scored two silvers in 800 meters? race and 400 meters relay race respectively and won one bronze medal in 400 meter race, said a news release received here from Beijing. Amjad, who is, 23 years old, is the first Pakistani student achieving such a pride by outshining Chinese athlete in Beijing Athlete Competition. Amjad was declared best athlete of Beijing Language and Culture University after achieving three distinctions during the athletic championship.

KARACHI, July 10 (APP):? Federal Law Minister, Mola Bux Chandio, has said that the protection of? lives and properties of the citizens is the prime duty of the government.However, for this purpose, all the segments of the society and the political forces will have to step forward and take concerted efforts for ensuring? maintenance of peace in the society by pinpointing the miscreants.He said this in his message broadcast by? Radio Pakistan with a special reference to the need of establishing peace in Karachi city, where some areas remained affected by violence by the miscreants since July 5.

The Minister stated that the enemies of peace are the enemies of the stability of Pakistan and the stability of Karachi is necessary for the stability of? economy of the country.
He said, we shall have to differentiate between our friends and foes so as to foil the machinations of those who use Karachi for destabilising Pakistan.
The Federal Law Minister said that we shall have to work for the promotion and stability of democracy and democratic institutions for solving of all of our problems, like other nations, which have successfully moved towards their political, democratic and economic stability.
He called upon the elders, intellectuals, political leaders and all others to join hands and play their role in making the city a the citadel of peace and the country prosperous.
